Indian TV Actresses Who Had To Go Bald For Their Roles

Being an actress is certainly a glamorous career however it’s not always a bed of roses. More often than not actresses are forced to go the extra mile in order to fit the role they are playing to a tee. They may be required to go nude or lose weight at a moment’s notice, and as is the subject of today’s blog, go bald. Here are a couple of those brave Indian TV actresses who had to put hair to scissors to get that part:

 Krutika Desai

The very successful and highly talented actress was the very first lady across Indian TV channels to give up all her hair for a part. She ventured where none had gone before and paved the way demonstrating to upcoming actresses that it was more than okay to lose your hair in the line of duty.

It was not easy though as she took it really hard, however, she grew into it and eventually revolutionized Hindu tv channels. The bald look was a requirement for her role as Ekadashi in the renowned TV show Color’s Uttaran.

Pooja Kanwal

For the TV show Hum Ne Li Hai, Pooja had to sport a hair free scalp but unlike the actress before her, no single hair in her head was harmed for the series. Her bald look for the role was achieved using modern day prosthetic make up.

Jennifer Winget

Jennifer had to sport a bald look for the part of Maya, a young woman who frames her husband for murder, in the hit TV show Beyhadh. She took it so well and even posted a picture of herself in this daring new look on twitter with the caption “Bold and bald”

Anjali Mukhi

Ishqbaaz, one of India’s most treasured television series, has been known to constantly spice up the show every now and then to keep viewers’ glued. This time, the producers introduced a new character called Surbhi Chandna, played by Anjali Mukhi. Anjali's head was shaved clean for her role as Anika’s mother.

 Nia Sharma

At just the prime of her youth, Sharma had to cut all her hair down for the role of a girl suffering from leukemia and naturally it was done to portray the effect of hair loss that accompanies the deadly disease. Though she didn’t skeptical about it at first, the show, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, would prove to be the catalyst for a glittering career.

Karuna Pandey

Kusum Sundari, played by Karuna on the hit show ”Devanshi”, had her hair cut by the character Mohan who had promised to do anything for the lead character Devanshi. As a test of loyalty, she demanded that for Mohan to shave Kusum bald, and he duly obliged.

A girl’s hair is one of her most prized possessions and it takes a lot of guts to sport a bold look for a role in Indian TV life. Therefore, hats off to these beautiful Hindi TV actors who gave it up for the better of the Indian TV series industry!
